From online store to deck planning resource.
I rebuilt an outdated, repeatedly compromised store as a deck-planning resource, connecting advice and budget estimates to the catalogue at Composite Deck Shop.

Deck planning after the catalogue move.
Inside the new website.
Five views of the finished site: project photography, material comparisons and practical price guides.
Deck planning guides.
Three visual routes help visitors choose materials, plan the work or explore how to build. Each card pairs a project image with practical links, so people can start with the decision in front of them.

Decking materials and railings.
Project photographs introduce composite, PVC, wood and railings. Short explanations and direct links help readers find the relevant guide without working through a product catalogue first.

Material comparison table.
A shared table puts the material families side by side. Cost, upkeep, durability and surface heat follow the same structure, with icons and clear row labels that make a detailed comparison easier to scan.

Materials and starting prices.
Board textures and finished-project images sit beside prices from Composite Deck Shop. Material tabs and per-board and per-foot figures give readers a practical starting point for their shortlist.

Ipe decking guide and project photos.
The Ipe guide includes advice, project photography and a contents menu. A shop card links to the material.
Read the Ipe guide ↗Why the old site needed replacing.
The old technology made routine publishing and updates difficult.
Repeated compromises, documented in July and August 2026, added recovery work.
The product catalogue had moved to Composite Deck Shop, so DecksToronto needed a new purpose.
The rebuild helps visitors compare boards, plan a budget and connect with the shop or an installer.
What was delivered.
Indexable pages at launch
Each checked for a working response, the correct canonical URL and no accidental indexing block.
Migration checks passed
Approved legacy URL decisions tested on the live HTTPS domain, including redirects and deliberately retired pages.
Build phases to follow
A practical route from planning and permits through framing, boards, railings and finishing.
Delivery and migration checks recorded at launch on 7 October 2026.
Deck estimates and quote requests.
The calculator updates an itemised estimate from the visitor’s measurements and carries selections into the quote request.

Content and URL migration.
Reusable layouts and optimised images make the new planning resource easier to maintain.
Legacy routes were mapped to useful new pages or the shop, with updated canonicals, sitemap and structured data. All 128 unique shop destinations passed migration checks at launch.
DecksToronto provides the planning advice; Composite Deck Shop provides the catalogue.
